Munsch, Robert

Il. by Eugenie Fernandes. ISBN 0-590-89012-3. New York: Scholastic, 1999. Unp. $11.95. Jillian's grandmother makes her a beautiful ribbon dress, a traditional Mohawk wedding costume. Jillian puts on the dress; but then the wedding guests start experiencing various problems. Jillian manages to fix the problems with the ribbons from her dress, but she ends up very dirty and is not allowed into the church. Fortunately, the bride and groom, two of the people she has helped, find a way to allow her in. The repeated refrains allow non-readers to join in the fun. Ages 4-8. Reviewed by Irene A.
