RHONE-POULENC CREATES A NEW ENGINEERING PLASTICS CENTER IN GERMANY

RHONE-POULENC CREATES A NEW ENGINEERING PLASTICS CENTER IN GERMANY
PARIS, Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Engineering Plastics Business (FF 1.2 billion net sales in 1991, of which 50 percent was produced outside France) constitutes one of the links in Polyamide 6.6's chain, an area in which the Rhone-Poulenc Group is the world number two producer.
Rhone-Poulenc has decided to invest in the creation of a technical center on Rhone-Poulenc Rhodia's site in Freiburg. The aims of this investment are to enhance the group's presence in Germany, to introduce new products, and to enlarge the Technyl(R) range in the automobile, electrotechnic and electronic markets.
The new technical center will be working by the beginning of 1993 and it will have at its disposal, as far as conversions and measurements are concerned, high performance computer assisted conceptions. This will permit the continual support of the technological partnerships policy with German customers.
This latest investment, following the recent investments made in Brazil and Taiwan (1991), to increase output capacity, demonstrates Rhone-Poulenc's wish to consolidate its position as the number two European producer of Polyamide 6.6 for injection.
