RF TECHNOLOGY VENDORS SELECT MICROTUNE'S CABLE MODEMS.
Testifying to its dramatic success, Microtune was the only RF supplier furnishing a silicon tuner in cable modems qualified to the 1.1 version of the standard in this testing round. Microtune provided the silicon tuner for the ready-to-manufacture cable modem submitted by Texas Instruments that attained DOCSIS 1.1 certification. This solution was a result of the collaboration between the two companies. Microtune also provided the RF tuner for the only two qualified cable modems that offered wireless local area network (WLAN) capabilities.
Overall, including DOCSIS 1.0 certifications, Microtune supplied silicon tuners, amplifiers or silicon-based transceivers in 60% of the cable modems that received the CableLabs seal of approval.
