REVCO TO BUY SEVEN DRUG STORES IN SAVANNAH, GA., FROM RUPERT HELLER'S PRESCRIPTION INC. TWINSBURG, Ohio, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- D. Dwayne Hoven, president of Revco D.S., Inc. (NYSE: RXR), today announced the signing of a sales agreement by which Revco will purchase seven Rupert Heller's Prescription Inc. drug stores in Savannah, Ga. Rupert Heller's Prescription Inc. was founded in 1969 with one store. The business has evolved into the most successful independent drug store chain in Savannah. Rupert Heller, R.Ph., will work for Revco Drug Stores. "Our customers are likely to see the same familiar faces and be offered the same services," said Heller. The transaction is expected to close Sept. 20, 1992. Revco currently operates 25 stores in the Savannah market, and 154 stores in Georgia. Hoven said, "The purchase of these seven stores will continue to strengthen our position in the Savannah market. We are excited about this addition to the Revco family." Revco operates approximately 1,150 drug stores in nine contiguous eastern states, and fills more than 46 million prescriptions annually.
