REVCO NAMES CARL BELLINI EXECUTIVE V.P., MARKETING AND STORES
TWINSBURG, Ohio, Aug. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- D. Dwayne Hoven, president

of Revco D.S., Inc. (NYSE: RXR), today announced that Carl A. Bellini has been named executive vice president, marketing and stores, for the drug store chain. Bellini succeeds Hoven in that position, which was left vacant when Hoven assumed the Revco presidency in July.
Bellini, 58, is responsible for the areas of marketing, store operations, real estate and managed care. He will report directly to Hoven, and sit on Revco's executive committee.
Bellini was executive vice president of store operations for Revco from 1987 until 1989, when he left the company to become president and chief executive officer of Erol's Inc., a video and electronics chain based in Washington, D.C. As executive vice president of store operations at Revco, Bellini had complete responsibility for all aspects of store and pharmacy operations for the chain's then more than 2,000 drug stores.
Hoven said, "Having worked with Carl closely, those on the executive committee know that he is an excellent team-builder. His 37 years of retail experience have made him one of the great talents in our industry. We are extremely fortunate to be able to welcome him back to Revco."
Bellini joined The Sherwin-Williams Company, based in Cleveland, as president and general manager of the stores division in 1980, and in 1981 was promoted to group vice president where he oversaw both the retail paint and the Gray Drug Fair drug store divisions totaling over 2,000 units.
His retail career began in 1955 with W.T. Grant where he held a variety of operations and management positions, including regional vice president for the southern states region. From there he went to Family Dollar Stores where he was named senior vice president of operations, distribution and real estate.
A native of Cambridge, Mass., Bellini received a bachelor of arts degree in economics in 1955 from Tufts University in Medford, Mass. He and his wife have three children, and are residents of Bath, Ohio.
Revco operates approximately 1,150 drug stores in nine contiguous eastern states, and fills more than 46 million prescriptions annually. Based in Twinsburg, Ohio, the company has annual sales of $2.1 billion.
