REUTERS TO LAUNCH FINANCIAL TV SERVICE IN MID-1994

PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Reuters plans to launch a financial television service for the foreign exchange market around the middle of 1994.
Mark Wood, Editor-In-Chief and an executive director of Reuters Holdings PLC (NASDAQ: RTRSY), announced the introduction of the service at an international entertainment, media and communications conference organized by Smith Barney Shearson Inc.
He told his audience of media executives and industry analysts that the service would be available initially in London and continental Europe. It would be distributed worldwide in due course.
The service would be delivered digitally to the workstations of foreign exchange dealers alongside the existing data signals to the client terminal, Wood said.
It would provide live coverage of events of interest to the foreign exchange market, he added.
