REUTERS TO CARRY PIT INFO CURRENCY TRADING DATA

NEW YORK, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Reuters today announced it is offering, as an optional service to its American customers, Pit Info Corporation's financial futures information from the currency and Eurodollar trading pits of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Pit Info provides otherwise unavailable trading activity data from the CME's Deutschemark, Swiss franc, Japanese yen, British pound, and Eurodollar futures and options pits. This unique information includes buyer and seller identities as well as order and transaction sizes, reports on significant market participants, and commentary on market sentiment and trends.
Pit Info also supplies commentary prior to market opening and after market close, data on options volatilities, daily special commentary on significant market action, and periodic reviews of technical and fundamental information as it relates to CME currency and Eurodollar pit activity.
Reuters will offer the optional service, via its Integrated Data Network (IDN), to users of the Reuter Terminal (RT) or to Reuter Selectfeed customers. Typical users will be Reuter Money 2000, Commodities 2000, Treasury 2000 and North American Treasury customers.
All Reuter IDN customers throughout the Americas are being offered a free trial of the service during the month of September.
"Reuters is the second international vendor of real-time financial information to agree to offer Pit Info data to its customers," said Lawrence Kraut, president, Pit Info Corporation. "This simply confirms what our market research already told us, that there is demand among key investment firms, banks and corporations for this kind of pit-trading information."
Chicago-based Pit Info launched its service in May this year. Dow Jones Telerate announced on June 30 it had become Pit Info's initial third-party ally. It is expected that other Reuter competitors will offer the optional service to their clients as well.
Pit Info Corp. is in negotiations with other futures exchanges worldwide to provide similar data from their trading pits.
