REUTERS TO CARRY MMS TREASURY ANALYSIS DATA IN THE AMERICAS

NEW YORK, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Reuters today announced it will offer, as an optional service to its American customers, MMS International's leading fixed-income treasury analysis services, MMS Treasury-Fundamental and MMS Treasury-Technical.
Reuters' arrangement with MMS International for the right to offer these services throughout North and Latin America is effective immediately. Previously, Dow Jones Telerate had an exclusive arrangement to carry these MMS services in North America.
Reuters has offered MMS Treasury-Fundamental and MMS Treasury- Technical to its subscribers in Asia and Europe since 1991. Reuters also offers its customers worldwide the MMS Currency, European, Canadian, Japan, Asia/Pacific, and Equity Market analysis services and MMS Tech-Trader.
MMS is a unit of the Standard & Poor's Information Group of McGraw- Hill, Inc., and is a leading provider of real-time fundamental and technical analysis in the fixed-income, foreign exchange and equities markets.
Reuters will offer MMS Treasury-Fundamental and MMS Treasury- Technical via its Monitor network, and its Integrated Data Network (IDN), to both terminal and datafeed users. Typical users will be Reuter Treasury 2000 and North American Treasury customers.
MMS Treasury-Fundamental provides "live" commentaries, forecasts, and analyses of the U.S. money and bond markets. It includes coverage of Federal Reserve Bank policy and operations, interest rate trends, and industry benchmark economic surveys.
MMS Treasury-Technical provides 24-hour "live" analyses of the U.S. cash treasury (New York, Tokyo, London) and debt futures contracts (CBOT, IMM, SIMEX, LIFFE). In addition to commentary and forecasts, MMS analyzes spreads, strategies, technical indicators, options, and related markets to provide a complete picture of the U.S. debt market.
Robert Russel, senior vice president, strategic marketing, Reuters America Inc., said: "These MMS services analyzing U.S. Treasury instruments are very important additions to the mix of data offered by Reuters. They are particularly important in our strategy to provide better American coverage in the fixed-income market. We are delighted to be able to provide to our customers data that formerly was held exclusively by a competitor in North America."
MMS International is the primary source of economic and financial information for money managers and traders worldwide. A network of over 65 MMS economists and market analysts in 12 international money centers provides forecasts and analyses of the international debt, currency and equities markets via quote vendors, directly to trading rooms, and in hard copy publications.
The Standard & Poor's Information Group, of which MMS International is a unit, also includes S&P Equity Services, S&P Comstock, S&P Compustat, Platt's Commodity Services, S&P Securities, and DRI/McGraw- Hill.
Reuters America Inc. is the chief operating unit in North and Latin America of Reuters Holdings PLC (NASDAQ-NMS: RTRSY), the international news and financial information group.
