REUTERS LAUNCHES ANALYTICS PRODUCTS
REUTERS LAUNCHES ANALYTICS PRODUCTS NEW YORK, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Reuters today announced the launch
of analytics products that address a range of needs -- from basic graphics to sophisticated technical analysis -- in several markets.
They are Decision 2000, Reuter Terminal Graphics and an enhanced version of Reuter Technical Analysis. Decision 2000 is a sophisticated analytics system for the global fixed-income market. It provides an integrated solution to portfolio management and trading analytics requirements in this market. The system features a broad range of single security analyses, from simple bond calculators to Option Adjusted Spread models. For those with more complex requirements, Decision 2000 offers multi-currency portfolio analysis and optimization tools. Decision 2000 integrates Reuter real-time prices and news with extensive historical databases to form a comprehensive and timely set of data. The historical databases contain prices and terms and conditions for several hundred thousand securities issued around the world. Reuters matches this global coverage with an international user interface. Decision 2000 is available in English, German and French. Italian, Spanish and Japanese versions are due early next year. Decision 2000 is offered on a number of platforms. Reuters is launching Decision 2000 initially in New York and Boston following a two-month client site test of the product. It will be made available progressively in other U.S. cities as well as in Europe and Asia. Also launched is a new Microsoft(R) Windows(TM)-based charting and technical analysis software application suitable for the general graphics needs of Reuter Terminal users. This product, called Reuter Terminal Graphics, offers easy-to-use charting facilities and a suite of popular technical analysis studies in two forms. Level 1 retrieves real-time data from a locally held, user-defined database and is available as a standard feature to Reuter Terminal users. Level 2 has a wider range of technical analysis studies and offers users access to both real-time and historical information. The Reuter Terminal is an 80386 microprocessor-based, intelligent PC which is the standard keystation for retrieving Reuter information services. For those requiring a more powerful technical analysis product covering international currency and commodity markets, Reuters has launched an enhanced version of Reuter Technical Analysis in Europe and Asia. This combines Reuter real-time information with more comprehensive historical data, a larger local database and a far greater array of displays and analyses than is offered by RT Graphics. Recent enhancements to this existing product improve functionality and provide access to Reuter Monitor pages and news. Reuters Holdings PLC (NASDAQ: RTRSY) supplies the global business community and news media with a wide range of products including real- time financial data, transaction systems, and news pictures. Reuters has a controlling interest in Visnews, the international television news agency, and Reuter Group companies design and install trading room systems. Information is obtained from around 170 exchanges and over- the-counter markets, from some 3,660 subscribers who contribute data directly to Reuters, and from a network of about 1,300 journalists, photographers and cameramen. Reuters distributes information through approximately 205,000 video terminals and teleprinters. This includes clients' own terminals that receive Reuter data. -0- 11/11/91 /CONTACT: Robert Crooke of Reuters America, 212-603-3587/ (RTRSY) CO: Reuters Holdings PLC ST: New York IN: PUB SU: PDT TS-SH -- NY013 -- 2890 11/11/91 09:04 EST
