REUTERS ADVANCES DIVIDEND PAYMENT FOLLOWING U.K. BUDGET

LONDON, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of Reuters Holdings PLC (NASDAQ-NMS: RTRSY) today announced it was bringing forward to April 5 the proposed payment of the final dividend for 1992 of 15.9 pence.
The company said it wished shareholders to be able to benefit from existing U.K. tax legislation before it changes on April 6, at which point the tax credit on dividends will be reduced from 25 percent to 20 percent. The dividend will be paid as a second interim dividend.
As a result of resolving to pay a second interim dividend, the board said it will not recommend payment of a final dividend for 1992 to shareholders at the annual general meeting on April 28. That dividend was due to be paid on May 4 to ordinary shareholders and May 7 to shareholders holding American Depositary Shares (ADS).
The record date for the dividend will remain at April 1. The ex-dividend dates for ordinary shareholders of March 15 and for ADS shareholders of March 26 also remain unchanged.
