REUNITED.

FOR the last three years I have been researching my family roots. My search took me last year to the Birtley Portobello area where my grandmother, Olive Goodfellow, was born in 1913.

Her mother was Mary Ellen Goodfellow and Mary was the daughter of Philip and Rachael Goodfellow (Ms Hodgson), both born in 1860.

Philip and Rachael had children called James, b 1883, William b 1888, Elizabeth b 1890, Agnes b 1893, Mary Ellen b 1896, Thomas b1900,and Hannah b 1904.

Mary Ellen gave birth to twins in 1913, Violet and Olive. Only Olive survived.

In the 1930s she ran away and married my grandfather Charles (Chay) in Leeds and in 1932 my father Derek was born, Owen followed in 1935 and finally Roderick in 1937. My uncle Ricky was 10 weeks old when Olive died of the dreaded TB in Leeds.

The older boys were sent to Scotland to live with their grandmother and Ricky was sent to live with James Goodfellow who was his Great Uncle.

I am in touch with Jenny Goodfellow, but would like to be in touch with other descendants of the Goodfellow family. I can be contacted by e-mail on lyndyloo5@googlemail.com.

Any information about my family would be great as I never had the opportunity to know of cousins, aunts uncles.

I live in Scotland so travelling up and down the A1 can be a long journey. Thank you for any help I may be given.

LYNDA MACDONALD. I WOULD like to appeal to any former students who attended Coventry Training College and were in the 1960-63 student year group to get in touch. There is to be a reunion in September 2010 to mark our 50th anniversary. Contact Terry Kenny on 02476 412892 or email reunionctc@googlemail.co.uk T KENNY, via email.
