RESPA impact study.

* RESPA impact study

HUD is months away, at best, from implementing final regulations on the 1983 amendments to the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA). HUD completed an economic impact study on proposed final RESPA regulations. The study was requested by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and it was considered to be the last internal Bush administration hurdle for the regulations prior to release. The contents of the impact study are being closely guarded by the department, according to a key source.
