RESOURCE RECYCLING TECHNOLOGIES SETS GROUND GLASS SUPPLY PACT
 WITH DIVISION OF OWENS-ILLINOIS
BINGHAMTON, N.Y., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Resource Recycling Technologies, Inc. (AMEX: RRT), today announced it has entered into a multi-year agreement with the Owen-Brockway Glass Container division of Owen-Illinois for RRT's Syracuse, N.Y. recycling facility to supply at least 76,000 tons per year of furnace-ready ground glass ("cullet") to Owens' Volney, N.Y., bottle manufacturing facility. RRT is in the process of installing a state-of-the-art glass processing system, which will include both non-ferrous metal and ceramic detection. "We believe it will be the first glass processor in the United States to provide automatic ceramic detection," Lawrence J. Schorr, president of RRT, said. The RRT glass system will be capable of processing in excess of 100,000 tons per year and will be operational early in the second quarter of 1992.
"This project continues the vertical integration and value adding strategy of RRT in providing recyclable raw material to industry. In addition to this wonderful opportunity in glass, our new plastics cleaning and separating facility will open in the second quarter of 1992, transforming plastic bottles now selling for less than 10 cents per pound to clean flake and pellets selling in excess of 25 cents per pound," he noted.
Resources Recycling Technologies is a vertically integrated organization dedicated to the advancement of recycling programs and technologies, and development of new markets for secondary materials.
