RESOURCE RECYCLING TECHNOLOGIES EXTENDS CONTRACT WITH CAPE MAY MUNICIPAL
UTILITIES AUTHORITY; AWARDED CONTRACT TO OPERATE CAMDEN FACILITY
BINGHAMTON, N.Y., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Resource Recycling Technologies, Inc. (AMEX: RRT), announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority extending its current contract with the authority for an additional seven years. RRT designed, built and has been operating a 30,000 ton per year materials recycling facility for two years under a five year agreement. As part of the contract extension, RRT will substantially upgrade the facility with its most recent advances in material handling and processing technology. The $2 million project is already underway and will be completed by June 1992. The new contract will expire in 2002.
In a separate announcement, RRT reported it was awarded the operating contract for the materials recycling facility in Camden, N.J., by the Camden County Pollution Control Agency. The facility was formerly operated by Resource Recovery Systems, Inc., of Connecticut. RRT expects to process up to 100 tons per day of commingled containers, including plastic. RRT may operate within the existing facility in Camden if needed equipment modification can be economically justified or transfer the materials to another location. The contract is for a period of nine months and may be extended for an additional six months. Siting for a privately owned operated permanent facility is under consideration by the agency.
