 REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA BECOMES NEW MEMBER OF IMF
 WASHINGTON, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Republic of Georgia today


became a member of the International Monetary Fund. The IMF's Articles of Agreement were signed in Washington on behalf of Georgia by Otar Kvilitaia, first deputy prime minister. Georgia's initial quota(A) in the IMF is special drawing rights (SDR) 74 million (about US$102 million).
 With the admission of Georgia, the membership of the IMF now totals 158 countries. The total of members' quotas in the IMF is SDR 91,295.55 million (about US$125,696 million).
 (A) A member's quota in the IMF determines, in particular, its subscription, its voting weight, its access to IMF financing and its allocation of SDRs.
