 SEATTLE, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) announced today that Edward J. Renouard (REN-wah) will become vice president and general manager of the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group, Everett Division. The announcement was made by Boeing President Phil Condit and is effective July 1.
 Renouard, currently vice president and general manager of Boeing Defense & Space Group, Helicopters Division, will be replaced on an acting basis by George Kau, vice president and assistant general manager, Helicopters Division.
 In making the announcement Condit said, "Ed Renouard possesses management attributes we have identified as prerequisites for advancement into positions of increasing responsibility. He has a record of excellent performance; he adheres to the highest ethical standards; and he is a proven team player who treats people with trust and respect."
 Condit noted that Renouard was selected following his evaluation as one of the candidates on the company's management succession plan for the Everett position.
 Renouard joined the company in 1959 and since that time has held senior management and technical positions at Boeing facilities in Philadelphia, Huntsville, Ala., Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Seattle. He will report to Robert L. Dryden, executive vice president, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group.
 Renouard has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Gonzaga University, Spokane, Wash., and has completed the executive program in business administration at Columbia University, New York.
 During Renouard's relocation from Philadelphia and transition into the new assignment, Jack Byeman, Everett Division director of Finance, will act for Renouard as required. Renouard succeeds James T. Johnson who is leaving Boeing to become president of Pratt & Whitney's Large Commercial Engines.
