RENO AIR ANNOUNCES JANUARY TRAFFIC

RENO, Nev., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Nevada-based Reno Air Inc. (NASDAQ: RENO |common stock~, RENOU |units~), which began service July 1, 1992, flew 44.8-million revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in January. Capacity for the month was 69 million available seat miles (ASMs), producing a load factor of 64.9 percent. The airline, which serves Seattle, Portland, Ore., San Francisco, Ontario, Calif., Los Angeles and San Diego from its hometown Reno/Tahoe base, carried 97,333 passengers in January.
"Our positive figures reflect the fact that this is the best ski season the area has had in the last ten years," said Jeff Erickson, president and chief executive officer of Reno Air. "While January can be a traditionally slow travel month in the industry, we have the benefit of the recreational diversity of the Reno/Tahoe region."
Reno Air currently operates five McDonnell-Douglas MD-80 jets, which seat 20 in first class and 120 in coach. The carrier intends to take delivery supplement existing routes, as well as for additional expansion of service.
