RENO AIR ANNOUNCES 'BUY ONE, FLY TWO' PROGRAM

RENO, Nev., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Nevada-based Reno Air Inc. (NASDAQ: RENO; PSE: RNO), the only publicly held new entrant in the airline industry, announced a new fare program today, which is scheduled to go into effect Tuesday, Jan. 4.
The low fare, full service carrier's "Buy One, Fly Two" program will allow travelers to purchase one round trip ticket at normal fare levels, and receive a free ticket for a traveling companion. The "Buy One, Fly Two" fare will be available system-wide, seven days a week. The purchased ticket is eligible for credit in the AAdvantage Frequent Flyer program, which Reno Air provides on all its flights. The new reduced fares can be booked by travel agents, and will be subject to availability.
Reno Air President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Erickson said the carrier and its passengers have been looking forward to the implementation of this program for some time.
"Since our first flight on July 1, 1992, when we had only one airplane, our customers have been asking for a two-for-one benefit," said Erickson. "Now that we have a fleet of 17 aircraft and one of the lowest cost structures in the industry, we've reached an economy of scale where we can offer the 'Buy One, Fly Two' program."
Reno Air currently serves Los Angeles, San Diego, Ontario, Calif., Burbank, Phoenix, Tucson, Ariz., Las Vegas, San Jose, Seattle and Portland, Ore., as well as its hometown of Reno/Tahoe. The carrier leases 17 McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series jets, which seat 20 in first class and 120 in coach. Reno Air participates in American Airline's AAdvantage Frequent Flyer program.
