RENAISSANCE COMMUNICATIONS' WDZL-TV/MIAMI JOINS THE PARAMOUNT NETWORK

 LOS ANGELES, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- WDZL-TV has joined The Paramount Network as an affiliate, it was jointly announced today by Kerry McCluggage, chairman of Paramount Television Group, and Evan Thompson, president of Chris-Craft Broadcasting. The premiere station of Renaissance Communications, WDZL-TV, is in the nation's 16th largest market (Miami represents 1.38 percent of total U.S. viewing households).
 In making the announcement, McCluggage commented, "The signing of this key affiliate is especially significant as it represents the continuing momentum of The Paramount Network." He added, "Clearly, our network plan is continuing to be embraced by broadcasters nationwide."
 Thompson added, "Paramount's and Chris-Craft's strategy for building a network is definitely paying off. As station owners, we devised a plan that we knew would be appealing to independent station operators. We thank WDZL for recognizing our formula for creating affiliate value."
 WDZL-TV was previously announced as being affiliated with the proposed WB Network.
 Stations committed to The Paramount Network, which will launch in January 1995 with an anticipated 85 percent clearance level, are the following: WWOR/New York (Chris-Craft), KCOP/Los Angeles (Chris-Craft), WPWR/Chicago, WTXF/Philadelphia (Paramount), KBHK/San Francisco (Chris- Craft), WDCA/Washington, D.C. (Paramount), KTXA/Dallas-Ft. Worth (Paramount), KTXH/Houston (Paramount), WUAB/Cleveland, KMSP/Minneapolis (Chris-Craft), KUTP/Phoenix (Chris-Craft), WTTV/Indianapolis, KPTV/Portland, Ore. (Chris-Craft), WJZY/Charlotte, WXMT/Nashville, KJZZ/Salt Lake City, KABB/San Antonio, and KOCB/Oklahoma City.
 As previously announced, The Paramount Network will initially present four hours of original programming over two nights, with "Star Trek: Voyager" as its cornerstone. This all-new action/adventure hour, created by Rick Berman, Michael Piller, and Jeri Taylor, is the newest installment of television's most enduring franchise.
 The Paramount Network, a fifth television network to be launched in January 1995, is jointly owned and operated by Paramount Communications Inc. and Chris-Craft Industries Inc.
