REMOTEPIPES DEBUTS VSPOP VIRTUAL PRIVATE NETWORKING SOLUTION.

RemotePipes Inc., The Internet Service Provider for Mobile Workers, has debuted VSPOP, a managed VPN (Virtual Private Network) service that can be utilized with a variety of wireless and wireline computing devices including Personal Digital Assistants (PDA's) such as the Compaq iPaq and HP Jornada. Unlike most VPN services offered today, the VSPOP service requires no VPN software to be loaded on the client computing device. The RemotePipes VSPOP solution helps corporations to address communications and security concerns associated with connecting remotely to corporate IP networks. These concerns include eliminating the costs associated with managing client software on mobile workforce computing devices and the VPN limitations of the PDA. The result is extreme cost savings for the corporation and a more convenient, secure, and flexible solution for conducting business in the field.

"Our company helps corporations to dramatically cut the costs associated with providing secure remote Internet access facilities for their mobile workers and other constituencies while increasing convenience and reliability. The 800Pipe service we offer, which allows Internet access from anywhere in the domestic US with a single '800' number, gives mobile workers the convenient solution they are asking for. The combination of VSPOP, 800Pipe, and IPSEC connectivity services with ISCA certified firewalls offers enterprises a powerful solution to enforce security policies out to the mobile worker which was not possible until now. Since our services are now supporting PDA's, organizations with mobile workers are even more excited about our offerings", said Doug Bonestroo, president and CEO of RemotePipes.

The VSPOP and 800Pipe services were engineered using carrier-class remote access equipment supplied by Nortel Networks (NYSE: NT). The foundation of the VSPOP service is the Nortel Shasta 5000, which is the IP services component of Nortel Networks' end-to-end IP architecture. The RemotePipes network underlying the VSPOP and 800Pipe services is fully redundant and highly fault-tolerant to meet the business continuity needs of enterprise clients.

RemotePipes has been piloting the VSPOP service in conjunction with the 800Pipe offering with fortune 500 clients and is currently in the process of completing full rollouts of the services for these same clients. Many other companies are scheduled to implement VSPOP and 800Pipe services in the near future.

Availability and Pricing

RemotePipes VSPOP and 800Pipe service offerings are available immediately and pricing is based upon usage. The pricing is much lower than competitive offerings.
