 REMINGTON PRODUCTS INCREASES MARKET SHARE
BRIDGEPORT, Conn., Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Remington Products, Inc.

today released the following:
Over the last six months, there have been several reports in the trade and national media with respect to the financing of the New England Patriots and other companies which Victor Kiam controls.
It has been reported that Kiam has an obligation of $38 million in reference to the New England Patriots. Kiam's intention is to keep control of all of his entities. To do this, he is in the process of refinancing various entities.
Kiam has retained the Chase Manhattan Bank to explore financial options for Remington Products, Inc. Chase Manhattan is looking at all alternatives.
Kiam is very proud that Remington ended 1990 with an overall U.S. electric shaver market share of 32.4 percent. This result is based on a leading independent market share research firm which Remington and the major retailers have used for the last six years. The company's 1990 market share is approximately the same as it was in 1986. This year, Remington has exceeded 1990's market share for the first three quarters. Additional data to reflect Remington's success is the U.S. Department of Commerce Import Figures (below). Remington is the only major domestic manufacturer of electric shavers.
Leading retailers currently indicate that Remington's product sell- through to consumers during the important Christmas period is increasing the company's share. Kiam believes that the excellent sell through is due to the high quality, value priced products the company offers, as well as the outstanding performance of all Remington employees around the world.
Remington is the largest private employer in the city of Bridgeport. It is also listed in "The 100 Best Companies to Work For in America."
