VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Clifford A. Grandison, president and chief executive officer of International Skyline Gold Corp. announced the rehabilitation and recommissioning of the Johnny Mountain concentrator has been completed on schedule and is now in operation at its planned operating capacity of 350 tons per day. The concentrator will treat 20,000 tons of ore containing an estimated minimum 0.51 ounces of gold per ton before a scheduled shut down for the winter.
Mineable reserves are being revised and will incorporate recent exploration results, additional information acquired from underground development and from additional drilling planned using a short hole bazooka drill. The results will be incorporated in a plan to re-open the mine on a seasonal basis in 1994.
Exploration on the adjacent Bronson Creek gold/copper porphyry deposit is currently underway. An Induced Polarization survey was completed earlier this summer. Several drilling targets were identified and fifteen holes to be drilled totaling 4,000 feet are planned for this year. The IP survey identified a zone measuring 8,200-by-1,500 feet. Drilling of this zone is expected to confirm and expand the geological potential of the area already identified by earlier drilling.
The company has also been advised by Cominco, the operator of the Snip Joint Venture, that they have completed substantial geotechnical analyses of the area under option from Skyline by the Snip Joint Venture. Drilling is currently underway with results expected shortly.
Grandison also announced that the company has completed the sale of $1.5 million in 8 percent convertible debentures arranged through C.M. Oliver & Company Ltd. The funds are being used for working capital purposes.
