REHABCLINICS SIGNS CONTRACT WITH PREFERRED HEALTH NETWORK

VALLEY FORGE, Pa., March 17 /PRNewswire/ -- RehabClinics, Inc. (NASDAQ: RCII), announced the signing of a contract with Preferred Health Network, Inc. of Long Beach, Calif., a wholly owned subsidiary of Qual-Med, Inc., a Delaware corporation. Under the terms of the agreement, RehabClinics will become a provider of outpatient physical and occupational therapy for Preferred Health Network's preferred provider organization and workers compensation managed care network, CompPro. Preferred Health Network has more than 15,000 participating employer/payor groups covering almost 3 million enrollees.
"This contract marks the beginning of an exciting relationship with Preferred Health Network," said James C. New, president of RCI. "Our network of outpatient clinics matches Preferred Health Network's current PPO programs in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico and Texas where we are located to conveniently service their members."
RCI's strategy is to develop the most extensive network of outpatient physical therapy clinics in selected markets through acquisitions and internal growth. This strategy is designed to capitalize on the highly fragmented nature of outpatient physical therapy by integrating innovative management and information systems, and marketing and sales programs into strong local clinical practices. RCI has established itself as one of the largest outpatient physical therapy companies in the country with 106 clinics in 13 states.
