REGISTRATION OPEN FOR BOB EVANS FARMS GREAT OHIO BICYCLE ADVENTURE EVENT TO VISIT NORTHWEST OHIO COMMUNITIES

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Those with thoughts toward summer can now register for the Bob Evans Farms Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (GOBA), a week-long bicycle tour traveling northwest Ohio that is expected to include more than 3,000 cyclists.
This year's GOBA event, slated for June 20 through June 26, travels to communities in northwest Ohio with overnight stays in Van Wert, Defiance, Wauseon, Bowling Green, Bluffton and Wapakoneta. Participants of this recreational event will cycle 50-miles-per-day with stops in historical sites throughout the area including Auglaize Village, Goll Woods, Harrison Lake State Park, Sauder Village, the Bluebird Road, a reconstructed historic mill at Grand Rapids, Oak Openings Metro park, Ft. Meigs, Indian Lake State Park, Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum and Grand Lake St. Mary's State Park.
GOBA attracts participants of all ages and abilities, according to Tom Barlow, tour director of the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure. "Last year's participants ranged in age from one to 81," said Barlow.
Registration materials are available by calling 614-847-TOUR. Participants may register until May 23, although early registration is encouraged.
"This year's tour travels some of the most interesting sites in Ohio," said Barlow. "We expect more than 3,000 cyclists to participate in this fifth annual GOBA." GOBA is the largest week-long bicycling event in the East.
The event also represents an economic boost to hosting communities. Tour organizers estimate that participants will add in excess of $500,000 to the local economies during the week of the tour.
GOBA is organized by the Columbus Council American Youth Hostels. Bob Evans Farms has been a sponsor of Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure since its inception in 1989 and has been the title sponsor of the event for two years. Bob Evans Farms produces and distributes a variety of food products in 26 states and the District of Columbia and operates 281 restaurants in 18 states.
