REGAL AND ABC-TV TO TEST NEW TELE-SHOPPING CONCEPT
FORT WASHINGTON, Pa., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Regal Communications

Corporation (NASDAQ: RCOM) announced today that its subsidiary Regal Group Inc., the nation's largest infomercial company, has entered into a product supply and distribution agreement with ABC-TV/Transactional Media's new "Nitecap" program.
"Nightcap" is the first network television program combining entertainment and direct response consumer marketing.
Scheduled to debut Oct. 19, the ABC-TV program will enable consumers to use "800" numbers to order unique household, personal and business products, and provide coupon offers to stimulate sales at retail. ABC will provide a share of gross merchandising revenues to ABC affiliate stations that carry the program.
Under the agreement, Regal's product development department will be responsible for sourcing merchandise offered during the program's direct response marketing segments. Regal will also provide fulfillment and distribution services for the hour-long telecast.
"We're delighted ABC has endorsed the concept of high-quality direct response TV marketing," stated Arthur Toll, chairman and CEO, Regal Group. "This provides a showcase for our products and our full-service marketing capabilities."
Phil Beuth, president, ABC-TV early morning/late night entertainment programming, stated, "Regal's product development experience for direct response TV is enormous and they have processed more than 8 million orders since 1985. They were a logical choice to help get a new era in late night programming underway."
"Nightcap" will be hosted by veteran TV personality Robin Leach. The program is a joint production of ABC-TV and Transactional Media, Inc., which is headed by Earl Greenberg, Ray Katz, and Herman Rush.
