REG TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES RAND CAM/DIRECT CHARGE ENGINE COMPLETED BY ADIABATICS, INC.

 RICHMOND, British Columbia, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Reg Technologies Inc. (Reg) today announced that an independent assessment report on the Rand Cam/Direct Charge Engine has been completed by Adiabatics, Inc. a private company incorporated in the state of Indiana for research and development of advanced engine concepts including advanced metals, ceramics, and surface coating. Adiabatics, Inc. has done extensive work on projects involving the U.S. Army (TACOM), U.S. Department of Energy, NASA and others.
 Adiabatics, Inc. had their research and investigate the work done on the Rand Cam/Direct Charge Engine which included a review of Reg Technologies business and technical reports, Society of Automotive Engineers ("SAE") papers which were prepared by the West Virginia University ("WVU") engineering team and the interviewing of six engineers from the Center for Industrial Research Applications ("CIRA") at the WVU. Adiabatics, Inc. also visited the CIRA laboratories, viewed the plexiglass Rand Cam/Direct Charge Engine and saw demonstrations of the computer model on their CAD three-dimensional modelling computer system.
 Based on the review, Adiabatics, Inc. has recommended that the development of the engine be continued to a commercially successful prototype as the engine concept is fundamentally sound and workable. They conclude that the researchers at WVU have done an excellent job of analysis and design and are to be commended for their work.
 Advantages of the Rand Cam/Direct Charge Engine as Reported by Adiabatics, Inc.
 The advantages of the Rand Cam/Direct Charge engine over all currently known engines, with each feature compared to the "best in class," are as follows:
 1. Compactness -- For the same diameter and length the Rand Cam/ Direct Charge engine will deliver 2 to 3 times the power of a Wankel type rotary engine.
 2. Multifuel -- A true diesel engine configuration of the Rand Cam/ Direct Charge engine with a compression ratio exceeding 20:1 will exceed the multifuel capability of the Cummins military diesel engines which have a lower compression ratio.
 3. Simplicity -- The lack of a set of timing gears and no rotor bearing makes the engine simpler with fewer parts than a Wankel engine.
 4. Reliability -- The low number of key parts will enable the engine to achieve a higher level of reliability than the Mazda Wankel engine which is without doubt the most reliable high output engine today.
 5. Weight -- This advantage is all important for aircraft, many marine applications, all military applications and all portable and hand-carried machines. The weight advantage is predicted to be at least 50 percent compared with a Wankel engine.
 6. Emissions -- The exhaust emissions are expected to be better than the best diesel engines and much better than the Wankel engine.
 7. Vibrations -- The engine should be virtually free of virtually free of vibrations much lower than even the Wankel engine.
 8. Noise -- The low vibration levels will virtually assure low levels of generated vibration noise transmitted to other structures in the application in which the engine is being used.
