REFORMULATED MAGIC GUARD IS RECALLED FROM MARKETPLACE

MEMPHIS, Tenn., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- The reformulated 5 ounce version of the leather conditioner Magic Guard -- but not the old formula sold in 7 ounce containers -- has been recalled from the marketplace, including all outlets in Pennsylvania, according to its manufacturer, Speer Inc. of Memphis, Tenn.
Speer voluntarily recalled the product after receiving several complaints within the last 30 days that the reformulated version of Magic Guard may be an irritant when used in a confined area. The new product is identified by lot numbers 3G77MG, 3G89ML and 3H65MG and is in a new colorful package with a blue cap.
The old Magic Guard 7 ounce product with the grey cap has been on the marketplace for 25 years and is not involved in the recall. According to Speer, the old product continues to be sold and used in accordance with the directions printed on the label.
