RECORD-SETTING CHEESEBURGER: HARD ROCK CAFE TO HONOR JUDSON H. PITT AS HE EATS HIS 2,000TH MEAL AT CHICAGO'S HARD ROCK CAFE ON OCT. 9

CHICAGO, Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Judson H. Pitt, the only non-rock 'n roll personality to be honored by the Hard Rock Cafe with a plaque on the restaurant's "Wall of Fame," is about to double the record that got him the plaque.
The Hard Rock Cafe will present Pitt with the plaque when he eats his 2,000th meal at the Chicago Hard Rock Cafe, 63 West Ontario St., on Sunday, October 9, 1994. He will be joined by family and friends from around the world including Hard Rock Cafe managers from Stockholm and Reykjavik.
Pitt, who is the leading collector of Hard Rock Cafe pins from America, Europe and Asia, received his first plaque when he consumed his 1,000th meal, a cheeseburger, on December 17, 1991. "I'm a collector. I collect everything with the Hard Rock Cafe logo," Pitt declares. He currently owns 1,100 different Hard Rock Cafe pins (out of about 1,500 existing types ... some with differences as minute as the grid details on the reverse side). He also has nearly 300 Hard Rock Cafe T-shirts, 100 hats, 25 jackets, plus menus, teddy bears, etc. And, he is one of the key organizers of Pin Fest III, a gathering of Hard Rock Cafe pin collectors to be held the day before Pitt eats his 2,000th Hard Rock Cafe meal.
Pitt and two California pin collectors have written the ORIGINAL HARD ROCK PIN COLLECTOR'S GUIDE, a book featuring over 1,200 pins. It's due to be published soon.
Pitt works at Flair Communications Agency in Chicago, where he has held a number of positions during the past 12 years.
He first went to the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago on opening night in 1986 with a group from Flair. He like what he saw, and started eating there, sitting at the counter. And he noticed the pins the bartenders and servers wear. On one pin was an Eddie Van Halen guitar. "I went wild for it," Pitt remembers. Then, he says, a waitress started flirting with him, and they started dating. Pitt came to the restaurant more often. The relationship with the waitress is long over, but not the relationship with the Hard Rock Cafe.
These days, Pitt is a regular there. He is always seated immediately and even has his own parking place out front. "They point me out to employees," he grins over a cheeseburger, his favorite Hard Rock Cafe meal. "I always give the new servers pins."
He tries only to travel to cities where there are Hard Rock Cafes and has eaten 500 meals at the restaurants in Los Angeles, New York, Berlin, Stockholm (for which Pitt designed a pin), Paris, London, even Reykjavik. His next trip will be to Asia. "Every place I go, the Hard Rock Cafe people show me around," Pitt notes. He can't wait to see the Great Wall in China.
