RECOGNITION RECEIVES $1.3 MILLION IMAGE REMITTANCE SYSTEM ORDER FROM FEDERATED'S FINANCIAL AND CREDIT SERVICES

 DALLAS, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognition International Inc. (NYSE: REC) announced today that its Systems Division has received a $1.3 million order from Financial and Credit Services (FACS, a division of Federated Department Stores, Inc.) for Recognition's Image Remittance System 4500. FACS, located in Mason, Ohio, will utilize the system to process up to 150,000 remittance credit card payments daily. The system is scheduled for installation in October 1993.
 The Image Remittance System 4500's unique combination of hardware and software based on an open Unix-based platform provides high-quality grey-scale image display, the industry's fastest power encoder: Recognition's Lundy(R) MRS/PET(TM) encoding up to 600 documents per minute, superior software for handling exceptions, automatic detection of change of address from image, and Courtesy Amount Read (CAR).
 "Our charter is to provide fast and efficient service to our customers. We decided to bring our lockbox processing back in-house to improve our customer service. Recognition's image remittance system will allow us to provide high-quality service while reducing our overall operating costs," said Bill Adduci, FACS' operations vice president for media services.
