RECOGNITION ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE AND ELECTS DIRECTORS

DALLAS, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareholders of Recognition Equipment Incorporated, at the annual meeting held in Dallas today, approved a change in the corporation's name to Recognition International Inc. (Recognition).
In remarks, Bob Vanourek, Recognition's president and chief executive officer said, "We are emerging from all of our significant changes of the past several years as a new company, a new Recognition,' one that is no longer best described by the name Equipment.' By changing our name from Equipment' to International,' we are making it easier for our many audiences to perceive us more accurately as the broader based, multinational, high-technology business we are, offering software, services and systems expertise. We choose to keep our shorthand name, Recognition' because it is our link with our rich past."
Shareholders also re-elected James F. Gero and William H. Waltrip as directors of the company in Class I with terms to expire in 1996, approved an increase in the shares reserved for issuance under the 1990 Corporate Incentive Plan and also approved the Director Stock Option Plan.
Gero has served as a director of Recognition since 1990 and is chairman of the nominating committee and a member of the executive and compensation committees. Gero is chairman and chief executive officer of Sierra Technologies, Inc., and is also a director of American Medical Electronics, Inc., Drew Industries Inc., DF&R, Inc. and several private companies.

Waltrip is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Biggers Brothers, Inc., vice chairman of Unifax, Inc., and is a director of Thomas & Betts Corporation, Bausch & Lomb, Inc., Technology Solutions Company and Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association.
