RECOGNITION ANNOUNCES MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION ORDER

 DALLAS, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Recognition Equipment Incorporated (Recognition) (NYSE: REC) announced today that its Canadian subsidiary, Mohawk Data Sciences-Canada, Limited (MDS), has received an order from The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) to provide personal computers, local area networking, training, and installation for MTO. The project will replace the existing units used by MTO for vehicle registration and driver licensing. Mohawk Data Sciences will be providing 1,300 IBM PS/2 personal computers with IBM LAN network operating systems and will be responsible for project management, training, cabling, installation and networking of the systems. In addition, MDS received a contract from MTO to provide maintenance and support over the next three years, with a two-year renewal option.

 In commenting on the order, MDS vice president and general manager Michael Briand said, "Our extensive experience in large government systems proves our ability to provide cost effective solutions and will enable us to continue servicing the Ministry of Transportation and its changing needs."
