REBNY taps Global Security Group for emergency action plan course.

Global Security Group has been selected by the Real Estate Board of New York to be the provider of their Emergency Action Plan Director Course.

The Real Estate Board of New York and Global Security Group are offering certification courses for Emergency Action Plan Director. Global Security Group is accredited by the New York City Fire Department. To be certified as a EAP Director, candidates must have their Fire Safety Director certification.

The Emergency Action Plan Provisions of Local Law 26 have been finalized and were enacted on April 6, 2006. An Emergency Action Plan (EAP) must now be developed and maintained in your office building. This law requires that your property plan for the orderly evacuation, relocation and sheltering of occupants in all Class E office buildings.

Emergency Action Plans for all Class E Commercial properties must be filed with the FDNY by: August 31, 2006, for any building that is greater than forty stories in height, or that has been designated as a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Commission; October 31, 2006, for any building that is greater than twenty-five stories in height; December 31, 2006, for all buildings not in any of the preceding categories.

Global's CEO David Katz is former US Federal agent and was an instructor at the FBI / DEA academy at Quantico, VA.

Katz founded Global Security Group upon his separation from government service in 2003. He formerly director of the Emergency Preparedness Planning Division of Diversified Security Solutions.

President Michael Savallo is a retired NYPD Detective. He was the lead instructor in the NYPD counter-terrorism unit and is well known for his work in the Shield Unit which provided training to building security personnel in many properties throughout the city.

The firm's staff consists of former federal agents, police officers from the NYPD counter-terror units and Israeli secret service agents.

Among the companies Global has been contracted to provide EAP services for are Rudin and the firm has begun servicing is 32 Avenue of the Americas, 3 Times Square and 845 Third Ave.
