REALTOR CONVENTION TO FEATURE NOTED SPEAKERS, INDUSTRY EXPERTS

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Management consultant Robert Kriegel and noted psychologist Dr. Joyce Brothers will be featured keynote speakers at CALIFORNIA REALTOR EXPO '93, the 89th annual convention of the California Association of REALTORS (C.A.R.).
The Expo and accompanying trade show will be held Sept. 27 to Sept. 29, 1993, at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim.
During the Expo's general luncheon on Tuesday, Sept. 28, Kriegel will show REALTORS how to rethink and recreate their strategies to succeed in today's environment. As author of "If It Ain't Broke ... Break It," he'll share his techniques on how to become a "Break-It Thinker," or how to roam outside the traditional fenced-in ways of thinking and acting.
Dr. Joyce Brothers, noted psychologist, author, radio personality and syndicated columnist, will be one of the featured speakers at the Expo's closing session on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Dr. Brothers will enlighten REALTORS about understanding non-verbal communication and body language in real estate transactions.
Robert H. Elrod, president-elect of the National Association of REALTORS, also will speak at the closing session.
Leslie Appleton-Young, C.A.R.'s vice president of research and economics, will present her 1994 California Housing Market Forecast during the opening session on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
In addition to educational seminars, workshops and entertainment events, the convention will include a two-day trade show with more than 150 exhibitors of products, services and technology aimed at helping REALTORS boost their productivity.
Regular registration fees -- which include opening and closing sessions, educational break-out sessions, a continuing education course and access to the trade show -- are $80 for C.A.R. members and $150 for non-members. Meal events are available at an additional cost. Those who are unable to attend the full convention may sign up in advance for a one-day registration on either Tuesday, Sept. 28, or Wednesday, Sept. 29, for $45 each day.
