REAL ESTATE COMPLIANCE SEMINAR HELD

 RALEIGH, N.C., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The North Carolina Bankers Association (NCBA) Compliance Committee sponsored a Real Estate Compliance Seminar on Wednesday, June 9, at the Mission Valley Inn Conference and Expo Center in Raleigh. Kimberly Lundquist, president of FIC Conferences, Inc., led the discussion of topics such as the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth-In-Lending, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Flood Disaster Protection Act, Equal Credit and Fair Housing, Appraisal Regulations and CRA.
 FIC Conferences, based in San Antonio, Texas, has been educating financial institution employees in compliance matters for almost two decades. Lundquist has been with the group for 11 of those years.
 Janie B. Johnson, chairperson of the NCBA Compliance Committee and vice president-legal/compliance division of Branch Banking and Trust Company (BB&T), Wilson, presided at the meeting.
 Ninety-four (94) bankers from 44 member institutions and four non-member institutions participated in the day-long event. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion for his attendance.
 The North Carolina Bankers Association, founded in 1897, is the professional and trade association for the commercial banks in this state. Its member institutions hold more than 99 percent of the commercial bank assets in North Carolina.
