I am enjoying the winners of the Dance Magazine Dance Photo Contest, which appear in the March issue [page 4]. Unfortunately, I saw the notice of the contest after the deadline had passed. I hope you will repeat the contest. I look forward to the opportunity of submitting my entries!
Thank you for publishing such a wonderful magazine for all of us dancers.

Your Transitions piece on Nenette Charisse [Dance Magazine, May, page 70] was beautifully written. I was fortunate enough to have known this incredible woman. She was my teacher for many years. No other teacher has had such a positive impact on my dancing as she did ... and still does. Nenette taught you to dance from your soul, to spread your wings, to feel the music, and to dance from "lavender to purple." I wish that everyone could have known this wonderful woman. She was one of a kind with her humor, wit, experience, knowledge, and love of dance.
RAVES FOR JUNE ISSUE
The June issue is a vast improvement over its predecessors. The cover is informative without being type-cluttered, and the text is acquiring a nice sense of organization. I also enjoyed the more thorough perusal of a single theme, in this case, el baile espanol. Ole!
NIKOLAIS DESIGNS WORTH MENTIONING
After reading your article ["From Off the Rack to Off the Wall," page 54] in the October 2000 issue of Dance Magazine, I was surprised that you made no mention of Alwin Nikolais, who was the innovator of costume design. We had just finished a photo shoot of eighty-five fantastical costumes designed by Nik. Alwin Nikolais, who was designing before any of those names you mentioned, should not be forgotten or overlooked.
