REA GOLD CORP. REPORTS EXCELLENT GOLD INTERSECTIONS FROM INITIAL DRILLING ON SOUTH COMSTOCK GOLD PROJECT, NEVADA

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- W. James Hogan, president and chief executive officer of Rea Gold Corp. announced initial gold and silver assay results received on the recent RC Drilling Program on the South Comstock Gold Project, Nevada, (Hole No. 210 - 120 feet at 0.104 opt Au - Hole No. 211 - 90 feet at 0.057 opt Au), (50/50 Joint Venture with BMR Gold Corp.).
A drilling program totaling 3,620 feet over 14 reverse circulation/rotary drill holes was completed during the period of April 20, to May 5, 1993. The primary objective of the drilling was the testing for an eastward extension of the Lucerne gold deposit by 8 holes, followed by 4 confirmation holes in the proposed high-grade South Starter Zone open pit and two condemnation holes for waste disposal. The starter pit will be located in the southwestern portion of the Lucerne deposit. Current open pit mineable reserves, estimated by Mintec Inc., of Tucson, Ariz., for the Lucerne & BTK deposits are 2.9 million tons grading 0.049 ounces per ton gold.
Assay results for the first four out of the eight drillholes received to date, that tested the down-dip eastern extension of the Lucerne deposit, are given in the table below.

 (a) Assay results are only available for the intersections reported; assay results for the remainder of the holes, both above and below the above intersections, are expected shortly.
The assay results are currently being compiled and evaluated. The primary objective, to extend the Lucerne gold deposit to the east, has been met. A preliminary review of the existing data suggests that Holes 93-201, 93-210, and 93-211, which form a continuous section along trend, have effectively confirmed a 350-400-foot strike length of easterly dipping gold/silver mineralization; these holes are located 100 feet east of the existing drilled-off portion of the Lucerne gold deposit.
Assay results will be reported, for the remaining RC drill holes and unassayed intersections in the current reported holes, when received from the assay laboratory.
