RE firm donates $25,000 to Westchester Partnership

SCI Real Estate Development Inc., a commercial and residential development company, has contributed $25,000 to the Westchester Business Partnership, the public/private group that works to promote the county as a business location.

The first 1992 contribution comes at a pivotal time for the Westchester Business Partnership as it approaches its second year of operation.

"We have a vested and long-term interest in the future of Westchester County as a business location," said Guerrino Savio, president of SCI Real Estate Development, an Italian-based company with U.S. headquarters in Manhattan. "We firmly believe it is our responsibility to do whatever we can to ensure that this county remains competitive and economically strong. The Westchester Business Partnership plays a major role in expanding Westchester's business base. This is a very positive organization and we want to be a part of it."

SCI's local development portfolio includes Hillside Park, a 66-unit condominium community under construction in White Plains, an adjacent 133,000-square-foot office building and Squire Green, a 240-unit condominium development in Pawling, New York.

SCI Real Estate Development has been active in the Northeast since 1979, developing commercial and residential properties in the metropolitan areas of Boston and New York totaling more than 1 million square feet.

SCI's parent company is one of Italy's largest real estate development and

construction companies. Founded in Genoa, Italy in 1944, SCI is currently developing several commercial, industrial and residential projects including a $700 million, 3.4 million-square-foot office/retail center in Genoa, which when completed, will be the largest office park in Italy. SCI is also constructing an $80 million manufacturing facility in Italy for Texas Instruments. The investment by Texas Instruments in this high-tech facility could reach up to $1 billion, making it the largest investment of its kind in Europe by a U.S. company.

Since its creation, the Partnership has mounted an intensive public relations, print and radio advertising program, and has also promoted the county through meetings, presentations and symposiums.
