RE/MAX INTERNATIONAL NAMED EXCLUSIVE
REAL ESTATE SPONSOR OF CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- RE/MAX International, the fastest growing real estate franchise organization in North America, announced today that it has become the exclusive real estate sponsor of the Children's Miracle Network.
The Children's Miracle Network is a grass roots effort established in 1983 to raise funds and awareness for hospitalized children. The network, which represents 160 hospitals for children throughout the U.S. and Canada, is host to the largest single annual fundraising event in North America. Last year more than $100 million was raised affecting the lives of 5 million children.
"RE/MAX is a network of responsible, motivated citizens who are leaders in their communities," said Children's Miracle Network President Mike Shannon. "Their efforts on behalf of the Children's Miracle Network will mean a great deal of money will be raised for needy kids."
In keeping with the RE/MAX tradition of taking an active role in their communities, the real estate firm's 29,000 sales associates in more than 1,875 offices will use their creative energies to help children in hospitals across North America.
"The Children's Miracle Network is an outstanding charity," says RE/MAX International Senior Vice President Daryl Jesperson. "Based on the track record and the support of our regional directors and sales associates, we feel RE/MAX can become the charity's largest corporate contributor."
On May 30, 1992, the tenth annual Children's Miracle Network Telethon, broadcast live from Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., will announce the results of this year's fundraising effort. Sponsors of the telethon expect to surpass last year's effort. The event, co-hosted by Marie Osmond and John Schneider, will feature such luminaries as Bo Jackson, Bob Hope, Rich Little, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Merlin Olsen.
RE/MAX International regions have already established a foundation for the firm's international support of the Children's Miracle Network. After four consecutive years, RE/MAX Quebec in Canada has developed into the largest corporate sponsor of the CMN Telethon in Quebec, raising a total of $1 million. Since 1986, RE/MAX Associates in Calgary, Alberta also in Canada has contributed approximately $250,000 to CMN hospitals. Ninety percent of the region's donations are from the sales associates themselves. Last year RE/MAX Southwest, based in Tucson, Ariz., implemented creative fundraising activities throughout Arizona and Nevada, including country fairs and walk-a-thons.
RE/MAX International, Inc., headquartered in Englewood, Colo., was founded by Dave and Gail Liniger in 1973. The company provides relocation, insurance, real estate referral and asset management services.
