Royal Bank of Scotland (LSE; RBS) has said that it has hired an official to lead its fintech project.
The bank said that it has hired a former executive from cryptocurrency firm, Circle, to the position. Marieke Flament, who formerly worked as the European managing director of Circle, is to join RBS as CEO of Mettle, its digital service for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Mettle, which is believed to have been operational since November 2018, could roll out a standalone version of the service in August.
