RBS Hires Victor Forte as Head of High Grade Bond Syndicate for the Americas.

STAMFORD, Conn. -- RBS today announced the appointment of Victor A. Forte as Managing Director and Head of High Grade Bond Syndicate for the Americas. Forte will be based in Stamford, CT. and will report to David Bassett, Global Head of Syndicate for RBS. He joins RBS from Barclays Capital where he was a Managing Director. Previously he was Head of US Debt Syndication at Lehman Brothers.

"We have recently executed a broad range of new issues and are seeing increased deal flow volumes so having a strong syndication capability is especially vital," said Bassett. "Victor brings significant experience and expertise across investment grade bond products. As the latest high-calibre addition to our team, he will strengthen our ability to deliver the full range of fixed income products to our core client base."

Forte joins the firm after a 17-year career at Lehman Brothers, including six years as head of US Debt Syndication, where he was responsible for the execution of debt, preferred stock and asset-backed securities, as well as the issuance and trading of commercial paper. While at Lehman Brothers he was also Co-Chairman of the High Grade Credit Committee and Senior Member of the High Grade Loan Committee. During Forte's tenure the firm was a consistently top ranked commercial paper dealer and was a top ranked investment bank by market share for domestic corporate bonds.

Forte holds a BA in Economics from Yale University.

RBS has recently made several senior level additions to its Fixed Income business in the US including Peter Najarian as Global Head of Local Market Sales, Stephen Monroe as Head of Short-Term Market Sales for the Americas, Wight Martindale as Head of High Yield and Distressed Debt Sales for the Americas and Scott Lang as Head of Regional Dealer Sales for the USD Rates Business and Boris Segura as Senior Economist for Latin America.
