RAYTHEON UNIT WINS CONTRACT FROM NEVADA POWER COMPANY

 LEXINGTON, Mass., Jan. 28 /PRNewswire/ Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) announced today that its United Engineers & Constructors International (UE&C) subsidiary has been awarded a lump sum contract from Nevada Power Company for the new Harry Allen peaking facility, which will provide supplemental power to greater Las Vegas during periods of peak electricity use.
 UE&C will provide engineering, procurement, and construction services for the facility, to be located 25 miles northeast of Las Vegas. The value of UE&C's contract was not disclosed.
 UE&C is designing the first 75-megawatt combustion-turbine unit, plus developing the site infrastructure for three additional 75-megawatt units planned for the future. Yeargin Inc., a UE&C affiliate, will construct the first unit.
 The cost of the first unit, which is expected to be completed in June 1995, and the site infrastructure is projected to be $45 million.
 Raytheon, headquartered in Lexington, Mass., is a $9 billion diversified technology company with sales in four business segments: Electronics, Aircraft Products, Energy and Environmental, and Major Appliances.
