 RAYTHEON UNIT WINS CONTRACT FOR ETHYLBENZENE/STYRENE PLANT IN CHINA
 LEXINGTON, Mass. Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The Badger Company, a unit of Raytheon Company, (NYSE: RTN) has won an engineering contract from the China Petro-Chemical International Company (Sinopec) for a new ethylbenzene/styrene plant in Daqing, Heilongjiang Province, China. The value of the contract was not released.
 Badger will perform design work, furnish licenses to its proprietary process technologies, and handle procurement requirements outside China.
 The plant has an estimated total installed cost of $60 million and is scheduled to be completed in 1995. Financing will be provided through the U.S. ExIm Bank.
 Styrene is used to make plastics, including polystyrene, for such products as packaging, toys, and appliances.
 As part of the contract, Badger is providing licenses for two manufacturing process technologies: the Mobil/Badger Ethylbenzene Process and the Fina/Badger Styrene Process. Since 1980, these technologies have accounted for more than three-fourths of the newly- licensed capacity worldwide for ethylbenzene/styrene.
 Badger is an international engineering and construction firm providing technology and services to the petroleum, chemical, polymer, and environmental process industries. The company is part of Raytheon's Energy and Environmental business segment.
 Raytheon, headquartered in Lexington, Mass., is a $9.3 billion diversified technology company with sales in four business segments: Electronics, Aircraft Products, Energy and Environmental, and Major Appliances.
