RAYTHEON EXPANDS RAYTHEON ENGINEERS & CONSTRUCTORS BUSINESS SEGMENT

 LEXINGTON, Mass., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) today announced that it has formed a new group in its Energy and Environmental business area to be known as Raytheon Engineers & Constructors (RE&C). The group includes RE&C, Inc., formed through the combination of Raytheon's Badger and United Engineers subsidiaries, the Raytheon Service Company, and Cedarapids, Inc. The group will report to Charles Q. Miller, chairman and chief executive officer of RE&C, Inc.
 The organization ranks among the largest engineering, construction, operations and maintenance companies in the world. Its worldwide markets include the Department of Defense and Department of Energy; NASA; infrastructure; petroleum and gas; chemicals and polymers; environmental; fossil and nuclear power generation and maintenance; pharmaceutical and biotech; test range, base and facilities management and maintenance; air traffic control support services; chemical munitions destruction; metals, mining, and light industry; and consumer products.
 With more than 14,000 professional employees and an equal number of craft employees worldwide, the group generates annual sales exceeding $1.7 billion and is involved in projects around the world with a total cost exceeding $5 billion.  Charles Q. Miller, chairman and chief executive officer of RE&C, Inc., received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1967, an M.S. in Applied Mechanics from Stanford University in 1970, and a law degree from Rutgers University in 1980. After active duty with the U.S. Navy, Miller joined United Engineers and Constructors in 1974. He served in a number of increasingly responsible positions at UE&C and was named as its president in October, 1990. He was appointed as chairman and chief executive officer of RE&C, Inc. upon its formation in March, 1993.
 Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, Inc., headquartered in Lexington, Mass., offers a full range of program management services including project planning, process development, engineering, design, construction, start-up, operation, and maintenance.
