RAYTHEON AWARDED PATRIOT SUPPORT CONTRACTS TOTALING $37 MILLION

 LEXINGTON, Mass. Nov. 17 ~PRNewswire~ -- The U.S. Army Missile Command has awarded a $30.9 million contract to Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) for equipment to support Patriot air defense systems scheduled for delivery to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 The contract covers generators, electric power units, and electric power plants for use with the eight Patriot fire units currently being produced for delivery under terms of an order placed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in late 1990.
 Raytheon has also received a $6 million contract covering additional modification kits to upgrade Patriot under the Army's Quick Reaction Program. This award supplements an earlier $113 million contract for kits developed to improve Patriot's performance based on lessons learned in the Persian Gulf war.
 Raytheon, headquartered in Lexington, Mass., is a $9.3 billion, diversified, technology based international company with sales in four business segments: Electronics, Aircraft Products, Energy and Environmental Services, and Major Appliances.
