RAYCOM TO TELEVISE 11 WISCONSIN BASKETBALL GAMES
 CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Raycom, the nation's leading

independent sports programmer, will televise 11 University of Wisconsin basketball games during the 1992-93 season.
For the fifth straight year, Raycom will televise the games in five markets, including Milwaukee, Green Bay and Madison.
Raycom's coverage of Badger basketball begins Dec. 5 with a 3 p.m. (Central) game against Wisconsin-Green Bay. Nine Big Ten games are scheduled, including a Feb. 10 contest with Michigan, ranked second in Street & Smith's Top 25 pre-season poll. Games with other ranked teams include a Jan. 27 trip to 21st-ranked Illinois and a March 10 battle with 13th-ranked Iowa in Iowa City.
A new brand of Badger basketball hits the court this year under the direction of new head coach Stu Jackson, the former New York Knicks mentor who promises an exciting, up-tempo style of play. Running the show for Jackson will be 6-1 junior point guard Tracy Webster, who led Wisconsin last year in scoring (17.3 points a game), assists (4.9 per game) and steals. A promising sophomore, 6-7 swingman Michael Finley provides another offensive threat. Finley, who averaged 12.3 points a game, showed tremendous potential against Michigan last year with a 30-point, 13-rebound performance.
Dwane Mosley will handle play-by-play duties with John Powless providing color analysis for the Raycom telecasts.
Based in Charlotte with offices in New York, Chicago and Dallas, Raycom produced and televised a record-number 413 college basketball games last year. Its basketball properties include regional networks for the Big Eight, Big Ten, Pac-10, Metro Conference, Southwest Conference and, in association with JP Sports, the Atlantic Coast Conference. As part of its Big Ten agreement but separate from its Big Ten coverage, Raycom televises selected games for each of the 11 conference schools.
Raycom will also produce 30 games for ABC Sports in which a combination of regional and national games will be televised to 95 percent of the country over ABC stations. All total, Raycom annually produces and televises more than 500 live sporting events and related studio shows.
