RAVENSWOOD ALUMINUM SAYS USWA MEMBERS RATIFY NEW CONTRACT
RAVENSWOOD, W.Va., June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Ravenswood Aluminum Corporation (RAC) today said Local 5668 of the United Steelworkers of America (USWA) has ratified a new three-year contract with the company.
Under the terms of the agreement, USWA members will begin returning to work on or about June 29.
RAC officials say they view the contract as fair to both parties and as a positive step in the restructuring of the company. The company will now focus its attention on restoring customer confidence in the long-term ability of RAC to supply quality products at a competitive price.
The ratification vote ends the labor dispute that began on Nov. 1, 1990.
