RAND LAUNCHES NEW MAGAZINE; PUBLICATION AIMED AT FINANCIAL DECISIONMAKERS

NEW YORK, July 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Rand Publishing today announced plans to launch a business solutions magazine for the financial services industry. According to Publisher Wayne Cloutier, Financial Technology Review will make its debut in November at the ABA Annual Convention in San Diego.
Aimed at decisionmakers in the banking and securities markets, Financial Technology Review will offer informed buying advice to top level managers, department heads and information technology professionals. "We know that most decisions are made by committee in banks and security firms and most decisionmakers feel the need to cut through marketing hype," said Editor-In-Chief Teri Robinson. "So we're in a unique position to cater to multiple levels of decisionmakers and offer useful buying information; something no other publication currently does."
Robinson noted that the banking and investment and trading markets are becoming more interlinked, creating a need for a magazine that targets both. "Solutions are converging by function and banks and security firms are dipping into each others' traditional markets."
Each issue of Financial Technology Review will offer a Buyer's Market that helps readers compare products and features; a Problem Solver Feature that brings together key decisionmakers in a bank or securities firm to analyze how they selected a solution; and a Mission Critical article to help readers develop successful business strategies.
Plus, each issue will contain lively-written banking and trading columns that deal with compelling topics that are must-reads for companies wanting to stay competitive. "Financial Technology Review will break from the traditionally light case studies and tired, staid writing styles that have marked financial publishing for years," said Robinson. "We plan to give readers information they can really use and become the forum for financial decisionmakers."
And Rand guarantees that Financial Technology Review reaches the target readership with the toughest reader qualifications in the financial publishing industry. Not only must readers be directly and intimately involved in purchasing decisions, their respective companies have committed technology budgets. "Our stringent standards ensure readers with the highest level of influence as to which solutions are put to use in their companies," stressed Cloutier. "And that's something that no other financial magazine can guarantee."
After its premiere in November, Financial Technology Review will appear bimonthly until May 1994 when it switches to a monthly publishing schedule. Financial Technology Review is published by Rand Publishing, 780 Third Avenue, 25th floor, New York, N.Y. 10017.
