RAIL HERO HAPPY TO BE HOME.

Byline: By RON MOORE

VIRGIN Express driver Iain Black looks relieved as he arrives home from hospital yesterday - three weeks after staying at the controls of an train as it derailed.

The modest dad, who hates being hailed a hero, wears a brace to keep his spine straight after injuring his neck in the 100mph accident.

Delighted at being back with partner Jan in Dumbarton, Iain, 46, said: "I missed my teenage daughter Alex so much and just want to put all this behind me.

"We received hundreds of cards from people we haven't met when I was just doing my job."

A passenger died and 22 were hurt in the accident at Grayrigg, Cumbria. A report blamed faulty points.
