RAGSDALE NAMED VICE PRESIDENT NORTHERN PACIFIC REGION

 MEMPHIS, Tenn., May 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Federal Express Corporation (NYSE: FDX) has announced the promotion of Robert D. Ragsdale to vice president, North Pacific Region, effective June 1. He is responsible for the company's operations and sales in Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.
 Ragsdale replaces Paul A. Stokes, who will serve as a consultant until he retires at the end of 1993. Stokes held numerous positions during his 37 years with Flying Tiger Line, Inc. before its merger with Federal Express.
 Ragsdale joined Federal Express as a hub supervisor in 1977 after 10 years with United Parcel Service. He became a manager in 1978, a hub director in 1979 and a director in field operations in 1982. He had been managing director of the company's Dallas District since 1988.
