RAFA shoot down United to end run.

Byline: Cardiff Combination

HEATH Park United's three-match unbeaten run was brought to an end by Premier Division leaders RAFA Boys in a hard-earned 3-1 win with goals coming from Paul Arapis, Peter Harrington and Dan Harding.

Second-place Vista threw away a 2-1 half-time lead when second-half goals from Ahmed Nur and a second from Abdi Ali gave Tiger Bay a superb 3-2 win.

Two first-half goals from Darren Weston and Zac Lloyd were enough to give Avenue Hotspurs a useful 2-0 away win over luckless AFC Highcroft, who missed a penalty and hit the post in a second-half surge.

Thornhill AFC finally kick-started their season with a convincing 6-1 first win over AC Central to take them of the bottom.

Roath Park Royals go top of Division Two thanks to a well-contested 4-2 away win over new boys Birchgrove Athletic. Third-place Cathays Cons knocked Pontprennau Pumas of the top slot in a nail-biting draw.

Keston Hughes-Jones gave the Pumas a half-time lead. With the game level following a Puma own goal, Michael Perry's 95th-minute strike looked to have won it for the Cons. But Matt Webster's goal direct from a corner snatched the Pumas a 2-2 draw.

Goals from Matt Hubbard and John Abercrombie were not enough to save Cathays United in their 3-2 loss to Cardiff Hibernians.

Bayside FC stormed back after trailing 1-0, with goals from SunDay Kehinde, Mustapha Omar and Suleman Shabani to record their first league win 3-1 over The Veiw. Jug &Bottle edged out an improving Cathays Park Rangers 3-2. A hat-trick from Clais Keah and goals from Perry Johnson, Jack Burke and Darren Hogman saw Division Two leaders AFC Butetown record an emphatic 6-0 win over the Pumas 2nds.

Caerau Ely bounced back into second place with a good 2-0 away win at Cardiff Hibs 2nds. Jug & Bottle 2nds squeezed out Avenue 2nds 3-2. Tiger Bay 2nds made it a double for the Bay teams when goals from Kalim Ali (2) and Abdiaziz Ibrahim, gave them a 3-2 win at STM Sports.
